Bagan
Bagan, formerly Pagan is an ancient city located in the Madalay Region of Myanmar, has been approved for inclusion on UNESCO’s World Heritage list on July 6, 2019 at a meeting in Baku, Azerbaijan, based on the recommendation of the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS). It is one of the Asia’s most amazing and richest archaeological sites. The ancient temples of Bagan stand today as they have been standing for a thousand years. Also being the capital of first Myanmar Empire, Bagan covers an area of 42 sq km containing over 2000 well-preserved pagodas and temples of the 11th -13th century.
It is also famous birding site for some Myanmar’s Endemic birds: Jerdon’s Minivet (Pericrocotus albifrons), Hooded Treepie (Crypsirina cucullata), Burmese Bushlark (Mirafra microptera), White-throated Babbler (Turdoides gularis) and the other three species are as follow Ayeyawaddy Bulbul (Pycnonotus blanfordi) that was separated from Streak-eared Bulbul and Burmese Collared-dove (Streptopelia xanthocycla) that was separated from Eurasian Collared Dove, Burmese_Prinia(Prina cooki) separated from Brown Prinia and many more.
Ayeyarwady River
Ayeyarwady River is the longest river (2,210 km in length) and the most important commercial waterway of Myanmar. It originates from the confluence of the Mai kha and Mali kha River and flows from North to South through Myanmar.
A long river we will be able to see some species:Critically Endangered Yellow-breasted Bunting .Can be see other species White-tailed Stonechat, Sand Lark, River Lapwing, Grey-headed Lapwing, Common, Pied, White-throated Kingfishers, Plovers, Common Sandpiper, Common Greenshank, Wood Sandpiper, Oriental, Small Pratincole, Wagtails and many more.
Day 1: Yangon – Bagan /B, L, D
After breakfast, our English speaking bird guide will pick you up and lead to the airport for morning flight from Yangon to Bagan (Nyaung U) which is the famous our unique ancient city. Upon arrival, we will meet with our driver and go to the birding site in and around Bagan Dry Zone. After we do birding the whole day, we will transfer to the hotel and check-in. Stay overnight at the hotel in Bagan.
Day 2: Bagan (Full day birding)/ B, L, D
After breakfast, we will explore other birding sites in Dry Zone of Bagan. We will do birding the whole day as the day before. Besides, we have a chance to enjoy the famous beautiful sunset of Bagan. In the evening, we return to the hotel and stay overnight at the hotel in Bagan.
Day 3: Bagan (Birding along Ayeyarwady River) / B, L, C
After breakfast, we will do birding on the way to Jetty to take boat for water-birds expectation. Arrival on Jetty, we will take wooden boat and do birding along the Ayeyarwady River. You can have a chance to see the livelihood of the local people and their lives. In the evening, we will return back to hotel and stay overnight at the hotel in Bagan.
Day 4: Bagan – Yangon/ B
After breakfast, we will do hotel check-out and transfer to Nyaung U Airport for the flight to Yangon. Upon arrival, we will transfer you to Yangon International airport for your departure or transfer you to the hotel in Yangon.
